We are excited to have been granted Resource Consents for a new section of pathway to link Havelock to Te Hoiere Pelorus River.
It has always been our aspiration to continue Te Ara Tuhono Link Pathway to Nelson. A lot of the potential route already exists (the Maungatapu Track for instance) and the trickiest part to construct is the 2.5 kms beside State Highway 6 between Havelock and Te Hoiere Road.
We are constructing the first half of this section (Havelock to River Corner) as stage 1, with significant stand-alone benefits to the local community as it will open access to the river for all sorts of recreational opportunities.
We really appreciate the support of NZTA, MDC, DOC, Ngati Kuia, Havelock Community Association, and Te Araroa Trust in getting to the stage where construction will begin in the next few weeks.
