Through Linkwater to The Grove settlement, the pathway runs beside the road and is flat and straight, running through a pleasant farming area. There is a service station at Linkwater, and public toilets beside the Linkwater Hall and School. Opposite the service station, a gravel road heads off to the historic gold-mining area of Cullensville, where the Cullens Creek Track heads up and over the mountain range to join up with the Waikakaho Walkway leading to the Wairau River near Blenheim.

3 kms further along the Link Pathway the Anakiwa Turnoff is reached. The Link Pathway continues straight ahead east for 3 kms to The Grove, but a side path continues north beside the Anakiwa Road for 4.5 kms to Anakiwa and the start / end of the Queen Charlotte Track.

Through The Grove settlement the pathway is along the road edge.
