From The Grove Jetty, the Link Pathway continues on the seaward side of the Queen Charlotte Drive, traversing the hillside between the road and the foreshore, and out of sight of the road in native bush, with attractive views over the Grove Arm of Queen Charlotte Sound. There are also a number of small coves and beaches which can be accessed from this section of the pathway. Half way along this section, is the small camping area of Aussie Bay, where there are picnic tables and a public toilet.
This section of pathway was damaged by severe storms in 2021 and 2022. We are pretty pleased with how the new footbridge between Aussie Bay and Momorangi is looking, see photos below. It replaces a steep and narrow “goat track” that has been in place since 2021. In our now trademark style, we have built it with sweeping curves. “We don’t do straights!”
